Today, I am going to play along with Sunday Sketches over at the Blue Chair Diary. These were a couple of sketches that I worked on this week.
I was trying to make her a little less mature. She just isn't quite right for the bow in her hair and that was what I was working around. I want to paint a picture with a ginormous bow like my grandmother wore when she was a kid. I didn't have an eraser with me, so this is how she stayed.
The caption reads: She decided that reaching for the stars wasn't good enough, she wanted to dance on them. I may turn her into a painting. She needs more work, but again no eraser so this is how she will stay.
I am still swimming in the happiness of my workshop with Flora Bowley. I am still trying to process all of the wonderfulness that I learned and absorbed. I can't wait to show you all what a fun and inspiring workshop Flora teaches.

I love that thought...dancing on the stars! I can't wait to see it colored. i love drawing stars, too1 - happy sunday to YOU. xxoo

ReplyDeleteLet's all go dancing!
ReplyDeleteHi Nelly.....love the cute Sunday sketches!!! wonderful work!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Nelly, that little dancer on the star is just precious and she would make a great painting, I hope you decide to go for it.
ReplyDeleteLove the eyes and the mouth - ohhh the star girl is adorable and the quote just makes it - this could be my daughter - she loves this one too!
ReplyDeleteOh she's so pretty and sweet, this would make a lovely painting if you do decide to paint it. Dancing on the stars sounds so magical!
ReplyDeleteLove everything thing about your little dancer, the caption and the dancer are both wonderful images. Your girl with the bow is adorable, it is hard for me to draw kids, don't know why. Looking forward to seeing these colored.
ReplyDeleteCute caption and illustration...I struggle with drawing kids too, probably because mine is a 'tweener' and maturing very fast. The beauty of sketches is you don't necessarily need an eraser - just another sheet of paper or a doodle in the margins. I always work out facial expressions that way.
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult drawing a face and especially childrens.
Dancing on stars! Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sketch!
